Bill Stegbauer’s leadership has shaped successful ventures across multiple industries. As a former President of Southern Towing Company, which he helped grow into a leading maritime transportation firm, Bill transitioned into new business arenas by co-founding Reality Capital Management, which now manages 500 rental units, three retail centers, and four apartment complexes. He also serves as a shareholder in Frost Bake Shop, helping it expand from a single bake shop to a thriving brand with three retail locations and a 10,000-square-foot bakery. Bill’s broad expertise now guides GMW, Inc., where he serves as Chairman, bringing decades of operational insight to this family-founded company.
Bill and his wife began their philanthropic journey together to support causes they believe in while staying connected. They have been long-time supporters of the Orpheum Theatre Group in Memphis, where Bill’s finance and leadership background led him to serve as Finance Committee Chair, Treasurer, Vice Chairman, and now Chairman of the Board. Their impact extends to The Mary Galloway Home, providing assisted living for elderly women in need, and support for the Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County, Special Olympics of West Tennessee, and a full scholarship fund at the University of Tennessee School of Nursing.
The Stegbauers’ philanthropy also reaches into Florida, where they support organizations such as The Arc of the Emerald Coast, Westonwood Ranch, Pathways for Change, and the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation, which benefits 15 charities for children and young adults in need.
GMW is one of the oldest fabrication and machining shops in Memphis.
GMW can fabricate or machine new steel, stainless steel, aluminum, or thermal plastic parts from plans or damaged parts. GMW is also one of only three ASME Code Shops in the county which can build or repair pressure vessels.

Entrepreneurship is essential to every size business at every level. Not only should the management be guided by being entrepreneurial, but the various levels of workers and supervisors should be also. True improvement and efficiency may be called many things such as quality programs, but they are the spirit of being an entrepreneur.
