“The entrepreneurial spirit will survive if we pass on the attributes and advantages of being a true entrepreneur.” A founding member of the Society of Entrepreneurs, Huey Holden fully understands the importance of entrepreneurship and believes in showing the way to those who are just beginning to follow their dreams. Huey Holden co-founded the American Soap Co. in Olive Branch in 1976. It became the nation’s largest private label manufacturer of specialty soap for the lodging industry. He sold the business in 1989 but remained as a consultant until 1993. Then he founded Aqua Lyte Corp. of Texas, a bottled water manufacturer and marketing company before accepting a position as Executive Director of the Memphis Botanical Gardens. Huey served in this position from 1997 to 2000, and he is widely recognized for the improvements he made in the gardens and throughout the organization.
Huey Holden’s civic involvements include the Germantown Rotary, St. Mary’s Episcopal School, and others.
