David Andrews is Chief Executive Officer and Owner of City Enterprises, LLC. City Enterprises, LLC is the parent company for the following auto related business; City Auto Sales, City Direct, City Auto Finance, Dealers Auto Auction of Huntsville, Dealers Auto Auction of the South, Dealers Auto Auction of Mobile LLC, and Dealers Auto Auction of Murfreesboro.
Andrews opened City Auto Sales in 1986, after purchasing a Ford Dealership with a partner in the early 80’s. Since then he has opened 4 auction sites, 4 City Auto Finance branches (floor-plan company) and City Direct. Currently, Andrews employs 507 people amongst his businesses. Some of his key people have been with him since early on, and his wife of 15 years also works in the businesses. Throughout the years, Andrews has exemplified both self-direction and determination through his success and growth of his companies. He is constantly seeking ways to improve his business model and his determination leads him to continuously adjust his goals upward and challenge his managers to reach these goals. He has grown City Auto Sales to over $100MM in revenues in 26 years. In 2010, City Auto Sales was nominated for the Small Business of the Year Award for 61+ employees Andrews believes in rewarding his employees that work hard and is generous with incentive based pay for reaching goals that he sets. He has used his creativity and leadership to retain quality people over the years that have helped him grow his businesses. When asked, Andrews is quick to state that it is the people that surround him that make him successful. Andrews had a vision to duplicate one of his business models in multiple cities, and has opened branches in three other cities over the past 5 years.
In an effort to give back to the communities that he does business in, Andrews challenges each of his general managers to pick a charity to support. He requires them to set a goal for their employees to reach and as a result has been able make contributions to many charities over the years. Some of the fundraising highlights from last year include: City Auto Sales organized Cars 2 Cure and raised $50,000 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation; City Direct raised $36,000 for the ALS Foundation and Dealers Auto Auction raised $16,000 for the United Way.
