Chris, born and raised in Memphis, is a 1988 graduate of Christian Brothers High School and a 1992 graduate of Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. From 1992 to 1996 he was employed with Deloitte & Touche as a Certified Public Accountant in the audit department.

In January of 1997, at 26 years old, Chris purchased Progressive Technologies from his father, David Brubaker. After a successful and distinguished career with South Central Bell, AT&T and Econocom, David purchased a majority interest in Progressive Technologies in 1989. 5 years later, he became the sole owner of the company. Under his leadership the company began to grow until a cancer diagnosis changed his plans. He passed away in March of 1997. His reputation for expertise, honesty, quality, service and hard work made it possible for the company to survive him.

Progressive Technologies started with a single office in Memphis as a specialty contractor installing telephone, computer and fiber optic cabling. Today, the company installs and services systems dedicated to communications, life safety and security – all across the U.S.

Chris’ civic, industry, social and faith-based service include: WKNO Board of Trustees, Youth Leadership of Memphis board, Mission Memphis committee at Second Presbyterian Church, low voltage committee at the Independent Electrical Contractors Association where he helped establish an apprenticeship program, the University Club board where he served as President, Member of Mayor Jim Strickland’s City Planning transition team

Chris is the father of a 15 year old daughter and a member of Second Presbyterian church.
