“Entrepreneurship has never been more important in the U.S. than it is today…we must learn to live by our wits in this high-tech computer-driven world.” John Shea has done just that, ever since he came out of military service in 1952 and began to operate his father’s Shea Ear Clinic. Using his extraordinary talents and innovative instinct, he has grown the 75-year old institution to a major center for the diagnosis and treatment of ear diseases, one that people travel from all over the world to visit. The Shea Ear Clinic has pioneered in many areas of medicine, and it boasts one of the largest and most complete diagnostic facilities for the testing of hearing and balance disorder in the United States.

Dr. John Shea’s vision has been about a lot more than just his practice. In 1957, he founded the Shea Ear Clinic Foundation to conduct research, teach other doctors and care for indigent patients. John’s efforts have helped to take the research and treatment of diseases of the ear to a completely new level.
